In 1985 TWEED TheaterWorks, then called TWEED Ensemble, presented the first incarnation of Manhattan Diary, then titled Diary of A New York Lady. Adapted by Stephen Pell from the short stories of Dorothy Parker and directed by Wendell Cortdz, the play was performed at the famed LIMBO Lounge in the East Village, featuring Pell, Malony, Colleen O’Neill and Richard Spore, with production design by Russ Clower. The work was further developed at a summer residency in Bucks County at Solebury School in the summer of ‘85, and later became Manhattan Diary, directed by Michael Nee, and ran on New York’s 42nd St Theater Row.
